The dazzling high-performance compact, the Leica Q, has been refreshed with a new silver design, catering once again to the specific breed of particular photographers with fat wallets that the firm so knows and loves. Presenting the Leica Q Silver.

The top plate and base plate of this new version have been silver anodised, while its rear shell is daubed in classic black paint. This new version retains the black leather trim from the original, allowing for superior grip in a tasteful finish, and the engravings of the feet scale and focal length numbers have been picked out in Leica red.

So what’s new other than the colour? Well, nothing. This new Leica Q still sports the full-frame sensor and the Leica Summilux 1:1.7/28 mm ASPH lens that so wowed photographers back in 2015, as well as the lovely integrated viewfinder carrying a resolution of 3.63MP and no perceptible lag.

As well as gorgeous stills, the Leica Q can also produce video in Full HD, at 30 or 60 frames per second, and features integrated Wi-Fi for quick transfer of content to a smartphone or tablet, via the Leica Q app. The app, at least, is free, which is nice.
