The technology behind the DJI Osmo Mobile is now available as a standalone product for existing Osmo users. The Zenmuse M1 gimbal has just been announced by DJI at CES in Las Vegas.
Essentially the Zenmuse M1 is the same three-axis gimbal that is used on the Osmo Mobile. It features an adjustable clamp that can hold most sizes of smartphone, including larger models, such as the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The Zenmuse M1 can be attached to the existing DJI Osmo hand grip, such as those found on the Osmo and Osmo+. Once attached to a hand grip, the motorised three-axis gimbal can then stabilise your smartphone. The result is smooth video footage - just like other three-axis gimbals that are available.
However, the real magic of the Zenmuse M1 is released when using the DJI Go app. Using the app allows for a number of features to be activated, including the excellent motion timelapse and subject tracking modes.
The DJI Zenmuse M1 is already for sale on the DJI store, priced at USD $169/£179.
The Osmo Handle Kit costs USD $269/£215
