We first saw a teaser in April, but today the pricing, availability and further info have been announced for the GoPro Fusion 360 VR camera.
The new wearable 360° camera will compete with the Insta360 which we had an exclusive hands-on with last month.
We haven’t used the camera yet to see how good the image quality is, but the current promo videos look solid.
Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the GoPro Fusion 360 VR camera.

GoPro Fusion 360 VR camera: Key features
We must say we are impressed. The GoPro Fusion 360 VR possesses all the features you’d expect from a GoPro and more, it’s a 360° camera after all.
It boasts 5.2k high-resolution video recording at 30fps and 3k video at 60fps, both with internal stabilisation. Then there is the built-in-just-about-everything, including gyroscope for those 360° recordings.
18-million-pixel still images can be recorded, with ISO 100-800 sensitivity and shutter speeds up to 30 seconds. We hear it is possible to set an ISO limit and exposure compensation.
Users will be able to control certain functions of the camera remotely via bluetooth and even voice command. Bookmarking highlights will make it easier to find key moments from videos. There’s some pretty neat shooting modes too.
Just like Insta360’s ‘FreeCapture’, the GoPro Fusion 360 features ‘Overcapture’, which is a shoot first, record later function. You can get the gist of what this means in our Insta360 hands on.
In short, Overcapture is a full HD real-time video, created from where the viewer looks around in a pre-recorded 360° video.
GoPro Fusion 360 VR camera: GoPro App & Fusion Studio Software
The camera is supported by the GoPro app and Fusion Studio software. Through the GoPro app, users will be able to - among other things - control the camera, preview and playback shots.
Fusion Studio software syncs with Adobe Premiere and After Effects, with some (free) Fusion plug-ins available. Edits that can be made through the software include horizon correction, orientation selection and layers for text/ logos and videos (within a 360° video).
GoPro Fusion 360 VR camera: Pricing and availability
