The Manfrotto Nitrotech N8, is the latest pan and tilt video head for keeping your video motions smooth. However, it features some technology that is ‘unique-to-the-market’ technology for ‘precise and continuous counterbalance’. The clue to the new technology is in the name - small piston mechanisms containing Nitrogen.
This all sounds impressive, but how exactly does nitrogen based technology affect the handling of a fluid video head?
The key benefit that we understand is that Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 is not limited to clicked steps when setting a balance point for your camera, whatever the size and weight of your camera setup.
With flat-base mount and standard 3/8” thread, Nitrotech N8 is compatible with a wide range of tripods, jibs, sliders and cranes and is capable of securely holding up to 8kg (17.6lbs).
An additional safety feature is the side-lock sliding plate, for secure and speedy camera attachment.
Those familiar with Manfrotto heads will notice that Nitrogen N8 is compatible with the company’s existing quick release plates.
Nitrotech N8 combines some of Manfrotto’s existing fluid video head features, such as adjustable pan and tilt fluidity settings for judder-free movements.
Two ‘Easylink’ 3/8” threaded anti-rotation mounts support off-camera accessories, such as an external monitor.
Impressions based on the pictures alone suggest that the design is intuitive for making adjustments to the control knobs of the head, while holding the tripod head’s arm with the other hand.
Made from high-quality materials, we love the style of the Nitrotech N8 and look forward to trying it out.
The Manfrotto Nitrotech N8 can be purchased separately or as part of a kit, with four Manfrotto tripod options available. Prices start at £449.99. For more information, please visit www.manfrotto.co.uk
