A new Manfrotto Pro Light Bumblebee camera bag range has been announced, comprising two backpacks and two messenger style bags.
The design of the backpacks can be traced back to exceptional Kata Bumblebee backpack from 2010, which at the time for us stood out from the crowd.
Kata is now well and truly part of the Manfrotto brand, now under the Manfrotto name. The collection has evolved into this latest iteration, the Manfrotto Pro Light Bumblebee.
Bumblebee evolution
An ultra-lightweight construction, breathable design and tough rip-stop fabric is used in all the Pro Light Bumblebee bags.
Where the products have evolved is through incorporating some of Manfrotto’s new designs, not least of which is the removable and adjustable Camera Protection System.
Manfrotto claims to have improved the already impressive tight-fitting yet breathable AirSupport design. This take stress and heat off the shoulders, neck and lower back.
Other new backpack features include a side handle that helps users put the pack on or take it off. A ‘NeverLose’ tripod connection secures a tripod to the side of the pack and can be stowed away when not in use.
All the new Bumblebee bags include a DuoFace sun/rain cover to protect from rain and reflect sunlight.
This is a strong looking line up of bags.
Pro Light Bumblebee Backpacks
There are two backpack sizes; the smaller Pro Light (PL) Bumblebee 130 and larger Pro Light Bumblebee 230. The latter features an additional lens pouch on the waist belt.
The breathable and comfortable design is needed for sure, as the Bumblebee backpacks have capacity for an almighty collection of camera kit.
In the 230 PL, photographers can pack a DSLR with large zoom lens attached, plus an additional 10 lenses and 17in laptop! The Bumblebee-130 PL holds proportionately less, with dimensions for a 15in laptop.
Bumblebee backpacks can be configured to store a modular camcorder like the Canon C100 and Sony FS5.
Pro Light Bumblebee Messenger bags
The Bumblebee messenger style bags are packed with features, including the new ‘XtraSecure’ stretch band to secure a handheld gimbal.
Quick access to the main compartment is via a velcro flap that can be silenced. Adjusting the shoulder strap should be quick too, with ‘EasyGrip’ buckle.
The M-10 PL is the smaller of the two messenger bags, with space for a CSC or DSLR with 2 extra lenses, gimbal and a 13in laptop, or even the DJI Mavic. The M-30 PL is proportionately larger, holding a 15in laptop and extra lens compared to the M-10 PL.
